A professor of Ethics and Religion at Xavier University, Loy has written many works in comparative religious philosophy. He is a Zen practitioner and authorized teacher in the Sanbo Kyodan lineage of Zen Buddhism who sits on the editorial boards of Contemporary Buddhism and Worldviews.
